ABOUT
Justine Eltakchi is an ARIA-nominated Australian songwriter and artist whose upcoming debut album (April 2026) is a deeply personal homecoming.
Inspired by her family’s post–World War II migration to Australia, the record traces her roots from Port Stephens, Newcastle and the inland country towns where she and her family grew up. Across nostalgic 80s textures and intimate, folk-infused storytelling, Justine reflects on identity, grief, womanhood, and the echoes of intergenerational memory.
The first single, Big Dream Baby, blends shimmering synths with heartfelt lyricism — capturing the push-pull of chasing big-city dreams while yearning for the safety of home. Other songs, like Josephine and Frangipani, paint vivid portraits of regional life and the landscapes that shaped her.
A celebrated songwriter for Eurovision Aust, The Voice, and major Australian acts, Justine has also found success with her dance-pop project Zemi Gold. She’s had triple j rotation, national press, and support from Creative Australia and Sound NSW. As an APRA AMCOS Ambassador, she champions Australian storytelling — and with this new body of work, she offers a moving tribute to heritage, place, and the timeless search for belonging.
